THE NATIONAL CHICKEN COUNCIL’S ANNUAL ‘WING REPORT’ EXPECTS AMERICANS TO EAT 1.4 BILLION CHICKEN WINGS THIS SUPER BOWL SUNDAY.
When the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Bucs in Tampa, Americans will eat enough wings to circle the earth three times. Now you might think that since this year doesn’t invite a lot of getting together, that figure might have gone down. But no. The National Chicken Council says that’s up 2 percent from last year. It credits the uptick to the pandemic. Wings, it explains, are great comfort food. And they hold up for deliveries. We say, what deliveries? Wings are incredibly easy to make. These five recipes are proof of that. We’ve gathered them all in one place. Just click on the photos and go to the one you like best. One more piece of news from the Council: 72 percent of Americans like French fries with their wings, only 14 percent prefer celery.
